"I have a question? Why put a deadline on the petition at all? Can't it just run up signatures over the next couple years and then that can be presented to shout or would that much time passing do more harm than good?"
I would like to put in much more time and energy with this petition, but I don't want to wait another year for signatures to come in 2 speeds, slow and stop. So as of right now, this week is your last chance you'll be given to sign the petition before I closed the petition and send the signatures into SF...unless you got any better ideas on where to go to get up to 1,000 or 5,000 signatures or better in a very short time. If there's a place where I can go to get a lot of signatures for my petition, then I'll see about extending the deadline just one more time. Otherwise, after March 28th, that's it. My C.O.P.S. petition project will be done! So if you haven't sign the petition, please do so!
I know you all are frustrated over the long delay of the release of the 2nd, 3rd, and the 12-disk boxset, but I can not tolerate any despicable, insulting signature comments and links to porn crap sites on my petition! Period! All these things is not going to get the complete C.O.P.S. released let alone get the rest of the episodes released on DVD!
I had to delete all those comments because of this and it's lowering precious signature tally, making the petition worthless and unappealing to SF. This must cease and desist at once! I cannot afford to lose signature rates because of those unauthorized comments and Shout Factory is not going to listen to us when there's less signatures, a lot of gobbledygook, insults, and links to porn sites!
Now I demand all signers to be polite and show some respect to Shout Factory and comment on how C.O.P.S. have meant so much to you, share with them your special memories of C.O.P.S., your favorite characters, your favorite episodes. Why is C.O.P.S. so special to you; why it must not at all be forgotten and thrown away into some dumpster, landfill or something; why it must not be kept inside cold storage; why it should have never, ever been an underrated, 30 minute toy commercial of a show to begin with; and why is it such a ground braking show, containing lessons, themes and values that are just as relevant today as it was when it aired from the late 1980s' through the mid 1990s'?
I can tell you one thing about the show that's highly relevant today just as it was years ago. The show taught everyone to say no to drugs. Even Berserko had the brains enough to reject drugs Addictem offered; those terrible Crystal Twyst badges have almost killed Berserko. Thankfully Berserko recovered and Addictem gets sent up the river for life.
The show also featured a huge ground braking character perhaps no one has ever featured in a cartoon before-- Madame President. She is the President of the United States whom I now regard as a cross between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama with red hair added to the mix. She is an African American woman who became president of the US in the C.O.P.S. series. She was the one Big Boss have kidnapped and used as a pawn to help Big Boss get his hands on The S.S. Empire (I think), the state-of-the art aircraft carrier and take over Empire city and send the C.O.P.S. team up the river and behind bars in parts 1 and 2 of The Case of The Big Boss' Master Plan. Madame President was eventually rescued by the C.O.P.S. who was then rewarded with The Medal of Honor given to them by the president herself.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg! There's more to the series than meets the eye and it must be released on DVD in complete format. So this petition must not fail! There's no way I can turn away from this now. We all would rather watch all of C.O.P.S. in clear hi-quality format instead of watching some episodes on youtube in messed-up, low quality format, don't you think?
So I want no more of crappy comments, porn, and insults be put on my petition! Understand? Now get to signing and put in only relevant comments to will convince Shout Factory that we mean business!
I want to tell everyone that I'm having a petition drive to release all episodes of C.O.P.S. on DVD. And I don't mean the live action version of COPS, but the animated cartoon show that featured Bulletproof, LongArm Mainframe, Big Boss, Dr. BadVibes, Berserko, Mace, Nightshade, and many others. To those of you who don't remember the show, let me refresh.
C.O.P.S. (Central Organization of Police Specialists) is a late 80s' animated series that aired between 1988 and 1989, which is the subject of my fan fics and my collection of fan art featuring the characters I've mentioned above. Here's a wiki article that tells all about the series,
C.O.P.S. WIKI Article
Thus far, Shout Factory has released the first 22 episodes of the series on DVD, but seeing only 22 episodes while there's in fact 65 episodes and one lost episode The Case of The Boy Nobody Wanted out there is not enough. It is better to see all the episodes than a few handfuls, don't you think?
Here's the page from Shout Factory that has the DVD up for sale.
C.O.P.S. Page From Shout Factory
Unfortunately Shout! Factory have decided to not release the rest because of poor sales, which I find to me inexcusable. Shout must release all C.O.P.S. episodes on DVD and I need all of your help to accomplish this goal.
About a year ago, I made up a petition to release all episodes on DVD and have tried to spread the word all over the internet about it in every which way I can only to get major setbacks, drawbacks, and a tiny trickle of signatures added to it (Please don't tell me online petitions won't work because Shout does pay attention to petitions, whether it's online or hand written, to see how many people would like to relive all the times of watching classic shows such as C.O.P.S. for instance and respond to them). I totally hate it when it happens and right now I'm getting real tired of all sorts of obstacles standing in my way, the setbacks, the drawbacks, the stumbling blocks, dead ends, forks in the road, and seemingly little or no responses whatsoever. Every pleading I made fall seems to fall on blind eyes, let alone deaf ears. And I'm getting really desperate here finding a lot of people who are willing to sign the petition. That's why I'm posting this to beg and plead with you all to sign the petition to release all 66 episodes, including the lost episode, on DVD. It doesn't matter whether you not heard of the show before, forgotten the show, or fondly remember the show. All I need is help in adding 5,000 signatures to my petition to release all episodes on one huge 12 CD boxset and on 3 separate 22 episode boxsets. That should be enough to convince shout factory that we want all C.O.P.S. be released on DVD.
Thus far, I have 209 signatures on my petition. I will set a goal to have the petition covered with 5,000 signatures by the time March 28th, 2008 come around. It maybe an impossible task it seems at the rate I'm going, but with you guy's help it can be done. All I want from you is full participation and support in reaching my goal of 5,000 signatures added to this petition,
My C.O.P.S. Petition
That's all I ask of you, please support the cause and sign the petition to release all episodes of C.O.P.S. on DVD!

C.O.P.S. (Central Organization of Police Specialists) is a late 80s' animated series created by DiC Entertainment that aired between 1988-1989. The show aired again in 1993 on Saturday mornings in syndication as CyberC.O.P.S. to avoid the confusion with COPS, the reality TV show. The series is all about a team of futuristic police officers lead by Special Agent Baldwin P. Vess (C.O.P.S. Codename: Bulletproof) who strives to bring a powerful criminal leader Brandon "Big Boss" Babel and his army of criminal thugs to justice and restore law and order in the streets of Empire City in the year 2020. The show contains only 66 episodes and has gained many fans who grew up enjoying the series along with its unforgettable characters such as Bulletproof (My all time favorite character), Buttons McBoomBoom, Big Boss, Nightshade, Mace, Berserko, Highway, Sundown, LongArm, Barricade, Dr. BadVibes, and many others.
In my honest opinion, the cartoon has the strongest appeal. The toys and the comic books both should have been made into exact replicas of all the characters as seen in the show and made into the exact format of the cartoon series itself; all made to promote the cartoon and include in the series Mainframe, Mirage, Nightshade, Ms. Demeanor, Brian O'Malley, Whitney Morgan, Commissioner Highwaters, and Mayor Davis. It has all of the delightful combinations of light-heartedness, interesting stories, humor, action, excitement, awesome, unique characters, each with personalities that makes all of them special in their own right, a vessel known as The Ultimate Crime Machine, a Big Boss look-a-like, a brilliant Berserko, a big blimp, a retired cop, a green car, a romantic, loving relationship between a COP and a Crook, a "pardner" in crime, an African-American woman who's also the President of the United States, trained bugs, The Bad News rock band, a clownmobile, a lucky penny, thieving toy robots, instant justice machines, bad cookies, a crimeboss who despises illegal drugs (let alone a dirty suit), a little girl who dresses up like a superhero, unforgettable battle cries of "It's Crime Fighting Time!" and "Crime's-A-Wasting!", a COP, who acts like a sportscaster, a conscience band, baby-size crooks, a chip off of a COP's own block, a boxing kangaroo, speed suits, ghost suits, and so much more! It has a lot more OOMPH in it than the toys and the comic book version of the series all put together.
This is the cartoon that had a strong influence in my life ever since I went to high school when it first aired on Fox and on WGN channel 9 in the Chicago station. I love that cartoon very much and I don't want it to be forgotten at all, ever. There are many who may have forgotten about the series, but I am determined to keep the memories and the influence of the series alive and bring them right back atcha' and help people everywhere rekindle the memories of C.O.P.S. and hopefully elevate the series to an absolute cult classic filled with die-hard fans, both old and young.
There's also another reason why I'm bringing this up. I'm working on a special petition to have the complete series be released on DVD. Thus far, only 22 episodes have been released, but that's not enough. All 66 episodes has got to be released on DVD and I need your help in signing my petition to released the whole series on DVD.Release the Complete C.O.P.S. Series Out On DVD
I've created this petition to convince Shout! Factory, the guys behind Volume 1 of the C.O.P.S. DVD boxset, to release the complete C.O.P.S. series on DVD and I need you guys' help in accumulating a lot of signatures to make the petitions work and convince Shout! Factory that we need all of C.O.P.S. badly! C.O.P.S. is an excellent cop show for even your kids to get into if you don't want your kids to see kid-enemy cop shows like NYPD Blue, NUMB3ERS, Criminal Minds, CSI, and The Sopranos. It features a series of educational segments called C.O.P.S. for Kids where both C.O.P.S. and Crooks spent a few minutes giving to the viewers tips and advice on how to protect themselves, how to be safe than sorry, and how to help the law enforcers keep the streets safe from crime. The series also includes, one of the most talked about episode of the series, The Case of Mace's Romance where Mace, a C.O.P.S. officer, falls in love with Nightshade, a crook who got Mace to help her rescue her sister from the crooks and thwart Big Boss' plans to steal money being raised for the homeless at a charity ball. Anyone who remembers the series should remember that particular episode.
You're all invited to come and sign the petition if you wish to see all the series over and over again like you used to. With help from you guys, it won't be very long before the complete C.O.P.S. series is release on DVD for all to see, including me.
